The Willow Tea Rooms is one of Charles Rennie Mackintosh’s most famous creations and attracts many tourists every year to see the outstanding¬†architecture and incredible interior design of the building.

In a recent interview Ms Sinclair said “The Willow Tea Rooms is an iconic building and I couldn’t simply stand by and watch it deteriorate. I’m a proud Glaswegian and I want to see its heritage preserved for the generations to come.

I started this project over a year ago. The recent tragic fire at the Glasgow School of Art has underlined to me, and others, that we really do need to act to safeguard what remains of Mackintosh’s work.

The Trust will ensure that after the renovation work the building will be financially secure and that due care and attention will be given to the building forever.”

We are dedicated to maintaining the heritage of our great city and are extremely proud that the Charitable Trust have recognised that appointing Speirs Gumley will ensure this magnificent building will receive the care and attention needed to restore it to its former glory.

The Willow Tea Rooms is a welcome addition to our growing portfolio of properties of architectural and historical significance which include Dalzell House in Motherwell, Kingston House in Edinburgh and Merchant Hall, The Merchants House and The Beresford Building in Glasgow among many others.
