EPC Commercial
Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) have been introduced by the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) 2002, on almost all non domestic buildings being sold or let from 4th January 2009.
The commercial building stock presently accounts for approximately 20% of carbon dioxide emissions in the country, and current government policy is aimed at reducing this figure substantially.
Non domestic EPCs are not to be confused with domestic EPCs as they require significantly more information and the software used in the calculation is also more complex, requiring specialist training for accuracy.
In response to the expected demand from clients, we have set up a dedicated division to carry out non domestic energy performance certificates, headed by William Mair, a qualified energy assessor, and Chartered Building Surveyor, with some 20 years experience in the construction sector.
