Weather Advice

Temperatures can drop to extremely low levels during winter and can cause pipes in your home to freeze. When there’s a sudden rise in temperature this can cause frozen pipes to burst.  In order to help prevent  burst pipes you can take the following steps:

  •  Insulate your boiler and lag the pipes.
  • Keep your home as warm as possible even if you are out
  • Ensure taps are turned off properly, especially last thing at night
  • Know where the internal stop/tap valve is (usually under the kitchen sink) and how to turn it off
  • In the event of a major loss out with our normal office hours please call our out of hours number 0345 604 4075. This number should be used for emergencies only not for general claims to be reported.

Another historic Glasgow building added to our growing portfolio

image001Earlier this year Speirs Gumley were appointed to manage the iconic Wellpark Enterprise Centre in Glasgow’s East End.

Glasgow Building Preservation Trust, who own the centre, completed the repair and conversion of Wellpark School in 1996 and Kirkhaven Church in 2003.  These historic listed buildings are now physically linked and well-established as an enterprise centre comprising more than 40 office units, covering 13,000 square feet of lettable space.

We are delighted to be part of the continued growth of the enterprise centre, the GBPT 2015 annual report showed that during the year occupancy level increased to 73% at year end compared to 67% in 2014.

Our Commercial Management team are hugely experienced in managing co-proprietor buildings, if you would like to obtain a tailored management proposal for your property please contact Jill Armstrong on 0141 302 1244.
